Lillifee 2

It is always a bit tricky to post about current and on-going projects, but it is no big secret that a second Lillifee Feature Film is in the making. I am currently working in Munich as a storyboard artist on this project - started in February and expecting to finish storyboarding in May. It is great fun to work with a talented crew again - and the drawing below was one of the by-products of sketching out  the title sequence. Don't adjust your monitor, it is indeed a very pink feature - based on a popular german children book with fairies, dresses, glitzer and a world of magic.

After Christmas is before Christmas....

Storyboarding can be funny with the seasons. Usually I sit sweating at my desk in summer, drawing characters having fun in the snow for Christmas episodes.

For a change of pace, my storyboard for the upcoming Christmas special of Molly Monster was actually created while it was snowing outside in December and January.

Having finished that, I am now off to Munich to work on a feature film. Keeping you posted!

Friendship, Adventures, Magic and Horses

Bibi & Tina is an immensly popular TV series in Germany. I have been boarding for these adventures for more than 3 years now and here is a sample of a treasure hunt sequence that is happening in one of the newest installments.

Off we go.....

A few things about myself: Born in Germany in 1963 and graduated in design at the University of Essen, the highlight of my animation career was certainly working for Richard Williams on "The Thief and the Cobbler" between 1990 and 1992. In a shameless attempt at selfpromotion, I heartily recommend:

for some real nice and insightful blogging about the film (and more).
Since then I have been working many years as a director, animator or storyboard artist on more cartoons than I can remember (maybe that is just my brain trying to save me from going insane).

...and this blog shall for now be the place where I share my work...
